The No. 1 Military Region reported that 64 junta soldiers were killed, 20 were taken prisoner, and 83 weapons were captured during the successful operation to take control of Tagaung, an ancient and renowned town in Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region, Myanmar.
This military offensive was carried out by People's Defence Force (PDF) battalions under the No. 1 Military Region, including the No. 3 Special Operation Battalion, No. 511 Battalion, Mandalay District Battalion No. 4, Mandalay District Drone Force, and Thabeikkyin Township People's Defence Team (PDT/Pa-Ka-Fa). The operation was launched on the morning of August 11th and resulted in the capture of Tagaung by the evening of August 12th.
During the battle, the PDF forces seized 83 weapons, along with 14,000 rounds of ammunition and 130 grenades. Two PDF members sacrificed their lives during the battle for Tagaung.
