Myanmar's renowned Thingyan Water Festival has been officially recognized and inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, as reported by ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฃ๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ฆ๐ธ ๐๐ช๐จ๐ฉ๐ต ๐ฐ๐ง ๐๐บ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ข๐ณ.
The decision was made during the 9th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), held in Paraguay from December 2 to 7.
This marks the first occasion a Myanmar cultural tradition has been included on UNESCO's esteemed list, highlighting the festival's significance as a vital element of the nation's cultural heritage.
