Thirty personnel were killed, and three were captured alive from the coup army during the battle to take over the town of Natogyi in the Mandalay Region. In this battle to capture Natogyi, a revolutionary stronghold in central Myanmar, over 30 people were killed, three were captured alive, and 27 weapons of various kinds were seized from the coup army.
Myingyan District's No. 4 Battalion Company Commander, Ko Than Than, died in action. Starting on the morning of August 10th, Aye Kyaung, the Construction Office, the Court, the General Administration Department Office, and the eastern checkpoint of the town, where the army was deployed, were simultaneously attacked by five columns. However, the revolutionary forces were unable to control the town due to several aerial bombardments by the coup army and were forced to retreat.
This operation was a joint effort by the Natogyi People's Defence Force, the 4th Natogyi Battalion of Myingyan District, the 8th Battalion of Myingyan District (Natogyi Regional Defence Force), the Natogyi Township People’s Defence Team, and the Tada-U Township People’s Defence Team, along with the Myingyan District Drone Squad (MDDS).
