In November, a joint security team comprising the Military Council and China was formed to enhance security for the Kyaukpyu Special Economic Zone. The team includes Major General Kyaw Shwe Tun, Chairman of the Kyaukpyu Special Economic Zone Management Committee, officials from the Chinese CITIC Group, Chinese security personnel, and technicians. Chinese experts and Myanmar security companies are also involved, taking advanced measures to restrict access to operational technologies.

Earlier in November, the Military Council and China established a working committee to create a joint venture security company for the Kyaukpyu project. This move led to the swift formation of the joint security team.

Reports indicate that the security company formed by China and the Military Council aims to counter the Arakha Army (AA)'s offensive activities and safeguard all interests related to the Kyaukpyu project.

The AA has reportedly captured 12 towns in Rakhine State and announced plans to continue their offensive to seize remaining towns.
