On the night of December 6, at around 10:00 p.m., Yangonโ€™s Hmawbi Air Force Base was attacked with five 107-mm rockets. The attack reportedly resulted in damage to a Y-8 transport aircraft and a Y-12 combat aircraft, as well as causing fires and destruction to warehouses, escape routes, and administrative offices. It was also reported that 15 military personnel, including 3 Air Force officers, were killed, while 5 others, including a senior commander, got severe injuries.

The attack was carried out by the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) group in collaboration with their ally, Shadow SAF. It was part of BWMโ€™s Mission 25 and executed as an Urban Special Operation (U.S.O.) by the Shadow SAF.

Sources indicate that the airbase was used to store military weapons from China, which led to the joint attack by BWM and its allied groups.
